A new book was published by the Institute of Geography named after acad. H.Aliyev. It is a monograph of the head of the department of Hydrometeorology of the Caspian Sea, PhD in geography Zabit Allahverdiyev, entitled “Long standing hydro-meteorological variability of the

Caspian Sea”. The author studies the impact of modern processes of climate change on the hydro-meteorological conditions of the Caspian Sea. He gives a scientific definition of the climate system, as well as the notions of the extent of the temporary change, mechanisms, causes and expected change, easing and adaptation.

The work investigates the consequences of the influence of global climate changes on hydro-meteorological conditions for the period covering the years 1961-2010: air temperature and distribution of atmospheric precipitation, temperature and salinity on water surface.

The monograph is written for bachelors, masters, doctoral students and researchers of the relevant specialty.
