Alizadeh Elbrus Kerim oghlu - 1957, 25.00.25 – “Geomorphology and evolutionary geography”, doctor of geographical sciences, chief scientific worker, corr. member of ANAS, head of department.

Scientific interests: Research of morphostructures of mountain territories of Azerbaijan with application of remote sensing materials, an estimation of geomorphologic risk, research of the geodynamic intense territories, ecogeomorphologic research of mountain geosystems of the Major and Minor Caucasus, formation of modern mountain ecosystems, definition of a degree of influence complex endo- and exogenic factors etc.

Khalilov Makhmud Yusif oghlu - 1931, 25.00.23 – “Physical geography and biogeography, geography of soils, geophysics and geochemistry of landscapes”, doctor of geographical sciences, chief scientific worker.

Scientific interests: Biogeography, geography of forest.

Ismayilov Mirnuh Javad oglu - 1954, 25.00.23 – “Physical geography and biogeography, geography of soils, geophysics and geochemistry of landscapes”, candidate of geographical sciences, leading scientific worker.

Scientific interests:research changes in modern landscapes of occurring under the influence of natural and anthropogenous factors, studying of ecolandscape features of territories.

Scientific interests: desertification process, the factors influencing on processes of desertification, law of development of landscapes of a border zone of mountain-plain, a landscape-ecological estimation of natural geocomplexes, revealing of risks and dangers of natural and anthropogenous genesis.
