A new book titled “Demographic development in the Republic of Azerbaijan: prospects of settlement of the population and regional issues” has been published. It includes the materials of the republican conference held by the Institute of Geography named after acad. H. Aliyev of ANAS in Sheki-Zaqatala economic region in September, last year.
The book, whose chief editor is academician Ramiz Mamedov, consists of 582 pages and 5 chapters. It was edited by now deceased corresponding member of ANAS Elbrus Alizade. The publication covers topics such as “Demographic development in the Republic of Azerbaijan: prospects of settlement of the population and regional issues”, “Impact of natural and geographical and environmental conditions at the resettlement”, “Modern problems of socio-economic regions”, Use of tourist and recreational resources and solutions to issues of employment”, “Multiculturalism and tolerance: the present situation and priority directions of development of the regions”.
In the preface to the book R.Mammadov noted that the study of the population is very important for its efficient resettlement, development of urban and rural areas to ensure the effective employment of the population, the regulation of migration and reducing disparities in regional development.
The academician informs that the research in this area is an important task.
The book can serve as not only a training tool for professionals, students, masters in this field, but also an interesting source of information for a wide range of readers.
