This year - in June-July, the employees of the department of Ecogeography of the
Institute of Geography have been in the expedition in connection with studies in the intensively assimilated area of north-eastern part of the Major Caucasus and in the north-eastern slope of the Minor Caucasus, affected by man-made pollution. They conducted scientific research on the modernenvironmental problems of intensively assimilated areas and continued previous observations of ecological state of summer pastures in the north-eastern part of the Major Caucasus, as well as the resources of terrestrial vegetation cover. They collected the information about the damage caused to the natural landscape.
